Akron, Ohio - Plans are underway for the production of the first "Urban Economic Empowerment Awards" slated to be held in Akron, Ohio, October of 2009. Organizers plan to celebrate and honor the Nation's most productive developers, financial institutions, investors, politicians and community leaders that have made the greatest impact on U.S. Job Creation, U.S. Economic Recovery and U.S. Investment in Urban Economic Growth.

There will be four categories recognized each year to acknowledge exemplary performances in economic achievement with the presentation of the: "Man of the Year Award", "Woman of the Year Award", Bank of the Year Award" and "Urban Developer of the Year Award."

Festivities will include a VIP Reception, Keynote Speaker, Dinner, Awards Presentation, Live Musical Performances and a VIP After Party.
